The Independent Advisory Board to the Stability Council (Unabhängige Beirat des Stabilitätsrats) published its 14th Statement about the structural government budget deficit.
The structural government budget deficit is expected to increase to 3 ½ % of GDP in 2020 and 2021 an to decline afterwards. The Council regards this as acceptable based on the European regulations given the special circumstances. Nevertheless, the Council has some concerns about the fiscal projection as it includes consolidating measures which have so far neither been specified nor decided. This makes a monitory by the Council difficult.
