In her work, Elisa Stumpf uses survey data to analyse the role of perceived and actual income positions for the demand for redistribution of income. She finds that both variables are significantly related to the demand for redistribution and that the majority of Germans is unable to correctly estimate their position in the income distribution. These results are highly relevant for policy-making processes and for further research on the formation of preferences.

Congratulations!
